Greens were as good as I have played in the area this year.

Magnolia Greens has 3 9-hole courses - Magnolia, Camelia & Azalea. We played Azalea and turned to Magnolia. I am not a fan of the Azalea 9-holes and I absolutely hate the changes they made to the par-4 3rd hole. While I agee that the hole was borderline unfair in windy conditions, making it only 260 yds from the blue tees is a joke. I much prefer playing the Magnolia & Camelia nines. As for the course itself, the fairways had a lot of bare spots for this time of year. The greens, which were replaced not too long ago, were a little slow (9 maybe) and also had bare spots. I would rate the fairways 5/10 and the greens 6/10. We played this course immediately after playing Cape Fear National just down the road. There is no comparison. Cape Fear National has a better layout and was in way better condition than Magnolia Greens for the same price. If you do book a tee time at Magnolia Greens, make sure you ask to play the original 18 holes - Magnolia & Camelia.

Sand traps every where. One par 3 only had sand between the tee and green. Expect to really get practice in deep traps. The facilities are beautiful as is the course. Very nice staff. Very busy day I played (Friday afternoon) so play was slower than I prefer.

Course is in excellent condition at this time of year. The greens are lightning fast. Well worth the price, and the trip.
